Unfortunately the owner of the station failed to renew the FCC license when it expired, and the station went off the air in 2009. My last radio job was here in Battle Creek at a Christian AM station, where I worked different air shifts, helped with promotions, and also helped with sales. During this time I also did overnights at WALM in Albion, which had new owners as well. I then did a season of Marshall High School basketball when the station was sold. The station went into bankruptcy and went off the air in 1994. After the manager that hired me left the station that spring, I took over sports, in addition to my normal shifts. I worked weekends there, and was quickly worked into helping broadcast boys basketball at Marshall High School. I interviewed and was hired at WELL FM in Marshall, which also simulcast with WALM AM in Albion. I was studying broadcasting at KCC in Battle Creek, and one day my radio instructor called and asked me if I was interested in a job at a local radio station.
